Do You Feel the Pull?
The pull toward slowing down.
Toward living differently.
The pull toward a simpler, more purposeful life.
Toward growing and providing better food for your family.
This pull often shows up quietly.
Maybe it’s while you scroll through Instagram or YouTube, watching others share their days — weeding a garden, talking about life on their farm, moving at a gentler pace.
Or maybe it meets you in ordinary moments — while washing dishes or sitting in traffic — when you find yourself dreaming of a different life for your family.

You feel restless, even when life looks “fine.” You know something could be better… if only you knew where to begin.
That whisper you feel is not discontentment.
It’s an invitation.
An invitation to change.
To choose a different path.
A path rooted in hope, abundance, gratitude, and faith.
This invitation is not about being behind.
It’s not about comparison.
And it’s not about becoming someone else.
It’s personal.
It’s for you.
An invitation to start.
To enjoy.
To become.
So often, this world tries to stop us before we begin — not by saying “don’t start,” but by overwhelming us with information, comparison, and pressure.
Too much homesteading information without clarity leaves us stuck. Comparison convinces us everyone else has the slower, simpler life figured out. Pressure pushes us to act before we understand why we feel called to homesteading.
But this invitation isn’t looking outward — it’s looking inward.
It’s calling you to begin with awareness.
The overwhelm you feel isn’t a sign to stop.
It’s a sign that you need clarity first — a vision, a sense of peace, and an understanding of what this calling means right now.
“Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.” — Psalm 37:4
God planted this hope within you long ago.
Your role isn’t to force it — it’s to move toward it faithfully.
In the Purposeful Growing Journey, Stage 1 is about naming the desire, listening to the call, and allowing God to clarify what this invitation looks like for you.
Stewardship of the land — and of your home — begins with awareness.
You don’t need a plan yet.

You need permission to pause.
To pay attention to the call.
To ask better questions.
To release comparison.
To resist the urge to rush ahead.
Clarity begins when you understand where you are — and how this invitation fits into your life today.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed by homesteading information and unsure where to begin, the Purposeful Growing Journey Quiz will help you find clarity and peace for this season.
It will help you discover the stage you’re in and what faithfulness looks like for you right now — so you can begin your homestead with peace instead of pressure and overwhelm.
This journey is also explored in depth on the Pray, Just Plant Podcast, where we talk about faith-based homesteading and purposeful living in every season.
Remember:
You don’t need to do everything — you only need to notice where God is inviting you to begin.
Growth was never meant to be rushed — it unfolds through faithful, purposeful steps.
Stage 1 of the Purposeful Growing Journey is designed for women who feel called to homesteading or purposeful living but feel overwhelmed by where to begin.
